Gareth Bale agrees to join MLS side Los Angeles FC

According to The Athletic, Gareth Bale has decided to sign a one-year contract to play for MLS team Los Angeles FC.

He will join former Italy captain Giorgio Chiellini at the club and has the option to stay in California for an additional 18 months.

Since his Real Madrid contract expired this summer, the 32-year-old Wales star has been without a club. He exits with a resume that includes 106 goals in 256 games, three La Liga championships, a Copa del Rey, and five Champions League victories. As they won "La Decima"—their 10th European Cup—in the 2014 Champions League final, Bale scored.

He has opted to join LAFC in the MLS, nevertheless, in advance of Wales' first World Cup appearance in 64 years this summer.

Bale reportedly had a lot of clubs competing for his talents.

LAFC failed to make the playoffs last year after finishing ninth in the Western Conference.

Chiellini, who joins Steve Cherundolo's team after his contract at Juventus expires, has improved the team this summer.

They are now in charge of their conference.

Bale had emphasised that playing time was crucial in the lead-up to the winter tournament in Qatar after making just seven appearances for Real in all competitions the previous season.

He stated in June, "I simply want to be playing going into the World Cup to be as healthy as I can. "My body will become stronger and a little bit better once I resume playing regular football.

"Getting into a rhythm in terms of your health and fitness is quite difficult when you are in and out of a squad. Any player will tell you that by playing consistently over time, your body grows more resilient, you adapt to it, and you get fitter. All I have to do is play some games, and I'm set to go.
Prior to the World Cup, Wales manager Rob Page had stated that Bale needed to find a club understanding of his needs.

Finding someone to manage him will be difficult for him, Page said.

He must assume that obligation on his own, as it will influence how frequently he plays. If he is unable to train in that manner throughout the week, the management of the individual team may decide not to select him on the weekend. He is aware of what has to be done.

In Group B of the 2022 World Cup, Wales will compete against Iran, England, and the USA. Their tournament will get underway on November 21.
